Jenny Butcher writes about the many unmarried mothers who, between 1949 and 1976 were forced to give up their children for adoption. Her moving work which will be exhibited in our forthcoming exhibition “Material Dialogues” demonstrates the impact of this.

The Creative Stitch Graduate show will be exhibiting work at Needham Market Community Centre on 18th and 19th July 2026 and will include work by the current graduates alongside several other alumni groups including Out of The Fold. Their collaborative work ‘Material Dialogues’ will be shown at this show.
