Textile Discovery day

Three Out of the Fold members will be taking part in the Textile Discovery Day at Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich on Tuesday 26th May. This is a FREE event with no booking required and runs from 10am until 3pm https://ipswich.cimuseums.org.uk/events/textile-discovery-day/

Nicola Whayman is a textile artist based in Suffolk who is inspired by her natural surroundings, bringing the essence of this natural world into her work.

Nicola says

“On the day I will help people discover the beauty of the natural world, working with plants, wool and preloved fabric to create and encourage well-being”

Sarah Boardman loves to stitch and teach Swedish weaving embroidery.  She also challenges herself to use it in non-traditional artwork.

Sarah says

“I’ll be demonstrating Swedish weaving embroidery and selling my beginner kits plus I’ll have materials for people to try it for themselves”

Mary McIntosh is a textile artist who uses mixed media and recycled materials to create textile art

Mary says

“On the day I will be making printing plates from recycled packaging to create unique fabric to make up into handmade books”
