Our forthcoming exhibition is at St Margaret’s Art Centre in Norwich which is a beautiful church with stained glass windows and a lot of space, giving us all a chance to display much of our varied individual work. For this exhibition we have chosen an exciting theme “Material Dialogues.” It is such a broad topic and we have all been working towards this for many months.
I have been creating a series of pods resembling seed pods but with a quirky unrealistic twist, which I will be naming “Poddities” Some of the materials I have used are: Re-purposed cotton fabric, Clay and glazes, Papier mache, natural artefacts, wool, solubles, silk and silk thread, toy stuffing. Sometimes I have set out to make a particular shape but have struggled to manipulate fabric over the papier mache moulds, so adaptation and innovation has been an important factor. Inspiration and some of my techniques have come from an online course by Tina Marais run by Take Two Art Courses. https://taketwoart.com/courses/tinamarais
In addition to “Poddities” I will be displaying some of my recent work depicting energy fields which is based on some research into the bizarre world of quantum physics and consciousness. It would be great if you come to the exhibition to see my interpretation and give your opinions!
Our exhibition runs from 23rd September to 4th October at St. Margaret’s Gallery, St Benedicts Street, Norwich, NR2 4TU.

It will be good to hear your comments!
