Out Of The Fold

Beverley Youngman

Beverley’s work is grounded by her family roots in East Anglia. She enjoys spending time walking and sketching her local coastal landscape, absorbing, observing and collecting along the shoreline.

She enjoys colour, texture, line, patterns and rhythms of the natural environment and embracing the ever changing shifts in elements, noticing marks and traces of the past and present.

Her practice has shifted to being more abstract, expressing echoes and layers of time, memories and place. These elements resonate and guide her sensitive and reflective making, through forms, materials and process which embed themselves into her work.

“Allowing myself time to think and ponder before capturing a memory enables me to convey emotion in my work”
